My buddy had that happen on a little pond we watched the bigger bass attack the little bass for 30 or 45 seconds it was awesome. He finally reeled it in and let it go unhurt.

Nope never. But while I was watching the video I kept on thinking about the ponds behind my families condo in Palm Beach. There are 'Gators in them from time to time and everyone says to stay a min of 8 feet from the waters edge. I just kept on waiting for one to pop out of the water. Guess I just have to stop paying any attention to those stories when we go down for a winter vacation.

I've had it happen once. Pulled my first 5 lber out of a pond doing this. I was fishing a small spinner, like a mepps, had a bluegill hit it, and all of a sudden BAM. Big ol bass nails er.

Three times
This happened to me three times bringing in little smallies on a jerk bait. Right at the boat BAM a good 6,7 pound largemouth took in both the smallie and the lure. Did not hook any of them.

I've had it happen a couple times. One with a bluegill on a flyrod and the other was a small bass. Never caught either of the giant bass that were chasing the smaller fish I had hooked but man was it exciting to see!!!
