installing a new depthfinder
Hey guys I'm putting a new depthfinder on the boat and I need a good way to fish (no pun intended) the transducer wire through a small hole. I thought about attaching the new transducer wire to the old one by using tape and when I pull the old on out the new one will be right behind it. Would tape be a good way?. I'm replacing a old (1993) Hummingbird with a brand new one a Hummingbird 525.Oh and what kind of calking should I use to re-seal where the screw holes are. Any hints/tips on installation would be great. Thanks Denny

Denny, I'd enlarge the hole enough to fit the depthfinder end of the transducer wire through it rather than risk messing up the wire trying to patch the 2 together. Just fill the hole-and the screw holes-with marine silicone and you should be good to go.
