Default Trailer problems

I have a Javelin 350A and about a month ago I was sitting in a parking lot with my boat. When I went to leave I was parked next to a concrete block. As i was pulling away I made a bone head move and wasn't paying attention to my trailer and turned to early and SMACK. I look back and I destroyed my tire on the right side of my trailer. I put my spare on and proceded to leave. Well its been alittle while now and i have noticed alot of wear on the inside of the tire. Also the other tire on the other side is starting to get wear on the inside. Is that due to the other tire being out of line? When you look at the tire you can tell it is alittle out of line and crooked. So my question is how do I go about fixing this? Is it something I can do on my own or am I going to have to take it to the shop? Also what type of cost am I looking at? How much would a new trailer axel cost me if that was my only option? thanks weidner21

You may just need to align the axle and that just involves jacking the trailer up, loosening the bolts that hold the axle to the frame and moving it into position. At least that is how my uncle did it when his got out of alignment due to hanging something one time.

I will not mention who hung the axle on something .

WEIDNER,
This is not an uncommon problem, you can bend an axle just by hitting a deep chuck hole in the road. I have my trailer alignment checked every couple years, and it is generally out of alignment a slight amount. Check with a local boat dealership and find out who they recommend for this repair. It will take a specialized frame shop to bend the axle the proper amount, do not trust it to a normal auto alignment shop. The alignment should cost you about $75.00, which is cheaper than buying new tires twice a year.
