Welcome to the forum!

Try taking out sone of the "unused" stuff. Last spring I took out about 50 lbs of unused soft plastics. I'm sure there are a few tweaks some of the engine guys can impart, but lighter weight=more speed.

Go to Bass Boat Central
http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com/zeromain

And open a thread in the "Setups by Todd" discussion and let Todd tell you what to do. There is nobody, in the business, that is better than Todd. He's got a loyal legion of followers that he has helped over the years. I know Todd personally and have for years. WE can beat around the bush and tell you all sorts of little tidbits of info (all of it being good stuff) or you can get your facts together like the RPMs, Speed, motor height on transom, prop pitch and diameter, normal weight loaded for fishing (estimated). Then tell him what you would like to achieve. Then wait for him to respond. He's busy so it may take a couple of days, but he always answers the threads.

Bob Smith gave a good reply. Do you have a jackplate? Weight will help as Reb said too, thats a simple one, and balance - boat balance is critical.

Check with laser in the members list..he is the boat guru around here..he'll get you up and running where you want to be...I'm sure he will respond to this post shortly...which reminds..hey laser, still working on my Nitro Savage..I will have to get back to you with the results (as soon as the freakin' ice thaws) I did order the 25P prop and raised my jackplate so the bullet sits 3" below when level..thanks for the help

ok so i guess i am forced to ask but which yamaha 90? the 4 stroke in this moter is vastly differant than the 2 stroke belive me. what is your currant set up? pad to center measurements? water pressure at wot?what is your currant prop? size don't mean much who makes it? is your currant prop a beer can or is it an ss prop?

i am guessing you have a jack plate as getting a hammer up to 6k at wot is nearly impossable with the moter bolted to the transome-mine runs 5800-.as i look at my data sheets for yamaha ss props a 13x17p looks to be a cleaver style prop. i see a 13, 13.25, 13.5, and 13.75 all of which will get your r's down and your speed up. every prop is designed differnat for differant things. now with your express how is it running? nose down? stern down? about level?

you want our help then we need you to answer these questions..

You don't need to go fast you want to. I never understood that concept. In tournaments it is needed. But it's not needed in recreational fishing. The whole dam world is in a hurry. Slow down & just enjoy yourself. I had a big lund bigger motor was needed because of weight. It would'nt win a drag race. Plus i was fighting a heavy current going upstream on the Missouri River. Until you start earning some serious cha-Ching fishing. Just slow down & enjoy the sport we all live for. That boat you have a 90 is more than enough. Unless you carry to much stuff. Then do what reb said

Yep. I was amazed I had that much tucked in nooks and crannies all over the boat.
