Default End of year @ Stick Marsh

Well I finally got a chance to get out on the water. Must say it's probably been 2-3 months. I headed out to the Stick Marsh/Farm 13 about 0830 after getting off a 48 hour shift. The lot was full, the over flow had 8-10 in it also. Temps were 70's, water was calm, sky was overcast. Headed out to the SW corner and was amazed to see only 6-7 boats. I threw my normal spinner bait's w/ little success. Moved in closer to the wood in about 3-5 feet of water, threw on a silver, blue back rattle trap. 2nd cast had a fish, then 3-4 consecutive cast's also produced fish. Most were small ranging from 1-3 pounds. Worked this area for the better part of the day, switched baits a few times. Had three decent fish all going over 6#'s one hit 7# even. All and all, got to finish 2007 on the water.
Total for the day-29 fish boated, missed fish-lost count. Baits used:
Silver w/ blue back Rattle trap- accounted for 15 fish
Silver w/ black back Rattle trap- accounted for 5-6
Black w/ blue tail culprit worm-4-5
10" grape Charlie worm-4-5
Also used Strike King spinner bait's- multiple color's and blade set up's. Had several hits, a couple that never made it to boat. Nothing, not even a nibble on my Paca craws.
Headed back to ramp about 1500 w/ a smile. Just a side note, the guys using shiners were hot and heavy w/ fish all day. To the gentleman from Ohio- I hope the two Rattle traps I gave you put some fish in the boat.

Question Stick Marsh

Hello from the frozen tundra of northern Illinois. After catching a half dozen bass thru the ice last weekend,I decided I need to get to Florida sooner rather than later and make arrangements to fish the Stick Marsh. My wife and I are going to stay in New Smyrna Beach during the month of March. I have fished Stick Marsh/Farm 13, Walk-in-the-water, Rodman and several other lakes with guides and shiners over many years in hopes of landing a true 10 pounder. ( Ever notice how many guides are quick to call an 8 pound fish a 10 plus?).Well an 8.4 is the best so far. Anyway, I would like to team up with a local bass fisherman while I'm in Florida and enjoy a day or two on the water chasing Big Bass! If you or anyone else has any ideas for me on lakes or fishermen looking for another diehard bass fisherman that can tag along, please let me know.

PC - post this as a separate thread and you might have a better chance of getting a reply.... Wish I could join you, not much fishing right now in Central New York!
