Good Deal?
Went to Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday and they had the Quantum Inferno, which regularly lists at 99.98 (according to them), on sale for 49.99. I had a $10 coupon off any purchase over $50. So I ended up with it for $40. The has five stainless steel bearings, continouos anti-reverse, dynamage magnetic cast control, and 6:2:1 high-speed gear ratio. Any thoughts on this reel? Did I get a good deal?
Thanks Bro. Brian Psalm 1:1-6

I'm not familar with Quantum's, I use Shimano's. But I do believe if you paid half of the true retail value, its a good deal. I read somewhere (dont know if its true) but the average retailer marks up 50% of their inventory to 50% over their cost. Meaning that Dicks probably paid about 45.00 for the real, maybe a little less or more. So, given the fact that Quantum has a solid name in the industry, and you got it for wholesale cost,...yeah..you did ok I suppose. I haven't heard of that model though before, what about it guys, the Quantum Inferno....who has one?

Looks like a nice reel bud, I'm not a fan of the mag break system, but I'm sure it will do the trick. Someday if you really have the urge to plurge, try the Shimano Curado D series. An extremely nice reel, if you can part with all that moola..

Brobrian,
I looked at Quatum's site and couldn't find that reel listed. I'm guessing it's a Dick's model made for them. From the info I would say it's a good deal. But you will be the final decision on that. I bet Quatum makes a very similiar one, that they sell all over, just have to figure out which one is the closet to it. The same thing was the case for the Pinnacle you got from me, wasn't listed, but they had one almost identical to it. Good fishing. Lizards

They are on sale here for $49.99 also.It looks pretty good, got 5 bearings so it should be pretty good.I couldn't really see how well it was for they come in a blister pack here. For the money it should work well for you.If you ever have a problem , Quantum stands behind their products, they will treat you right.P N J
