Big Shakey Head?!
I was reading sometihng on the BASS website about using big Shakey heads. 1/2-1 oz football head jigs with big worms. Sounds very intersting. Anyone ever done this before? How'd it work?

i will often use the bigger ones in windy or deep conditions. However I dont use football jigs, I prefer the Spot Remover heads. Its worked for me several times.

Sounds like a good idea. I dub it Power Shakey head.

All I use on my Shakey Head rigs is a football jig. I'm not talking the 1/2-3/4 ounce ones, rather the 1/8-1/4 ounce. I really like the football head because they seem to stand up better than all others, although they still claim they will stand up. Picasso Shake-E-Football is really a good jig for this application.

This season I'm going to try the 7" berkely shaky worm on a 1/4 to 1/2 oz bagley jig head throwing it from a bait caster with 14lb line. I'm debating if I want to use this set up around heavy cover since jig heads even rigged weedless tend not to be as weedless as a texas rigged plastic. I think I'm just going to use it on windy days, around deep rocks or jetties and sparse weed growth.

The only problem that I have is that in the wind is that sometimes it's difficult to detect a stike due to the wind. Granted if the fish "runs" with the bait it's easier to tell but if your in a boat then it may still may difficult to notice.
