Default TM Shaft Length

Hey. Since we're looking at getting a boat, we thought we'd better be prepared if the boat we get does not come with a TM like a lot of them we've looked at.

We're looking for a 16-17' Deep-V boat (like the Trackers) What #thrust and shaft length should we be looking at?

Thanks Zook, we were looking at a 52" shaft, that wouldn't be too long would it? I was looking at some trolling motors and picked one that I (and the baitmonkey) like, but of course, since my dad's paying for it, he doesn't...

and good news, we may have found a boat. It's a 2001 Tracker 16' Deep-V. We may be going to look at it tomarrow.

52" is not too long at all. Thats what we have on our 14' Deep-V and it is perfect.

Zook, explanation?

If it helps, we will probably be taking on Lake Erie also.

Zook 52" shaft on the Tracker V's is real common. Especially since they gonna be takin it out on rough water.

oh i thought you were using it in the shallow water.. my bad..

though you will have to pull it up a mile when you do get skinny. which will put it in the way ..
