Tough day, fall turnover

Well, after fishing my last 3 outtings at Flint Lake where there is now shad, and catching around 150 bass in total, I went back to my other old favorite fishin hole, Loomis Lake. Loomis has no shad, and bluegill is the primary forage. And you can tell. The bass at loomis are much thinner than at Flint. Those shad really pack the pounds on those Flint Lake bass. Anyways, today I landed just 6 bass, all under two pounds. The fall turnover has hit, and Loomis was very foul. Looked like coffee and smelled bad. Well, didn't smell like a sewer or anything, but you could smell it. Plus there was not a cloud in the sky. BRIGHT sunny skies galore. Anyways, I could not put together any patter what so ever. The bass had lock jaw. Caught a few on a popper and spinnerbait, but only averaged one bass per hour. THEN, I came up with a solution that I wanted to share! I went back home and cleaned up both vehicles, and cleaned up the yard, and had a couple beers. Like they say, bass fisherman need to be flexable.

I know when lakes turn over around here the best thing to do is take a week or two off and try fishing streams...

well it's going to be a while before I can get back out anyways, so thats probably a good thing. Going on vacation next week, so probably will be 3 weeks before I get out again.
