Lightbulb Crank Bait Modification

Another modification or twist I have found is a spinner blade put on the tail end of a crank bait just above the rear treble hook. All you have to do is insert an eye hook with a dab of glue to seal the hole and add a small spinner bait blade on a swivel. And you could just imagine the extra action you lure will get.

Here is a good idea of what it will look like when finished.

Robby.

Another is if you have a deep runnig crank you want to run at a foot under the surface? Easy take a lighter and heat up the bill from underneath the lure wave the heat back and forth don't leave it in one place too long. Gradually bend the lip down to just a little past 90 degrees this wont hurt you lip but it will have to stay a shallow runner. the sharper the bend the shallower it will be. you can play with it till you get the right effect you're looking for.

Cool idea, I wonder what if instead of a blade in the back end, you put a small hook to attatch a skirt, or pork eel, or some other trailor?

oh then the answer would be probably more attraction, bigger profile, or maybe it looks like a fish tail...

lol

I put feathers on the back to get a fish tail look but also they flare if you ever stop your bait.......especially on jerkbaits in the colder months.....its like chicken feathers on a topwater...they breath and stuff....

um all you need is some feathers, thread, and superglue and maybe some tinsel. you can get all that stuff at your local hobby store, like hobbylobby and micheals. but i use the stuff from a fly tying kit i got from my uncle, i tye some but none are of any real quality
