Default Chicahominy River

My brother and I hit the Chic this weekend and had a decent day. We fished from 7:30am - 12:15pm. We caught a total of about 12 bass, 1 (big) Ring Perch, and about a 4-5 lb Bowfin! Most of the bass were bucks but we did catch one 3 lber and another 3.5 lbs. My cousin fished out of his boat for a couple hours and caught a 3.5 lber and lost a big fish. The males were shallow and are probably getting ready for the females to move up. The bigger fish were staged in a little bit deeper water. I think this weekend will see a wave of big females move to the beds. I'll be at Chesdin for a tourney and hope to do a little better than the last one!!
