spinnerbaits 10+
cranks 8-10 plastics 8+ tube jig rod (spinning) 6-10 (I'm assuming exposed hook) drop stot/shaky heads ????? A lot depends on cover. For plastics, 10#, which I've used a lot, is fine for light to medium cover. However, if you're going to have to horse a bass out of heavy cover, then you'll want something considerably stronger. You'll probably get a variety of answers, as there are no hard and fast "rules", but lots of personal preferences.

12# fireline or 12# diameter? May effect the way lure action (specifically, rate of fall).
Have to love getting dialed in for the first outing. Of course if you change bodies of water a lot (clear to dark and back again) you could get picky and strip line a lot!

6 to 12 pound ANDE tournament for all of those. Maybe one rod spooled with 20 pound powerpro. Up in the great white north, you don't really need to worry about pulling 10 pound bass out of hydrillla, so go with the lighter line and have more fun.
