October 1 is the opening of bow season here in Indiana. I'll be back in the woods soon after hunting yet another new piece of property made available to me.

It sure does creek, I cant wait. Also squirell starts tomarrow. I think we need to do a thread where we are able to post all of our hunting pics, because up here in northern Indiana your not able to do alot of bass fishing october through march, so we need to find other things to do. I cant wait unitl october, hunting and trapping is open and I spet alot of time in the woods and running trap line.

Id love to get a trap line running. Around here, you'd catch a bunch o possums, quite a few house cas, and the occasional coon. Not worth herouble...

For the first week or so I will find alot of possum in my snares, but that weeds them out so I dont run into that. I use snares and the way I sent them is for what animal I am going for. I will use a different height for coons, fox, and coyotes. Its pretty hard to snare cats becuase they dont usually travel the same route, where you can really seen coon trails. As far as fox and coyote, they will run deer paths so its pretty easy to find where they are running. For the cats I just pull out my trusty .223 and eliminate them like that.

Yeah I could tell, my wife has family that lives just outside of knoxville and I went on a bow hunt for a hog a took one just a little smaller than the one in your pic, that was sure intense. But if you want to really get your adrenalien going you should try hunting coyotes at night. Its great.

Do they attack? It's illegal to hunt anything at night besides alligator.

No they dont attack, what you do is I have a .223 and I put a lightforce on my rifle scope, which is a very large red light run on a portable batery pack. I then put my fox pro caller www.gofoxpro.com out about 75 yards and let some animal distress calls. Coyotes are very curious and when they think they can get an easy meal they will. So what I will do is I will scann the field and woods with my rifle and with that light you will pick up the eyes like you cant believe. When the yote gets to aboout 100 yards or so you turn the light on high and drop it on the yote and fire. It a great rush.
