This goes against everything you learned as a tidal bass fisherman.
Tide dead low, no water movement, no wind, bright sun and all but two or three caught on topwater. It is something I learned about ten years ago about low tides. Water is gin clear. Every fish caught two inches from hard grass edges. Long casts and non aggressive topwater lures is the trick. With the water pulled back three feet they have no place to hide. Just ledges of the grass mats and shadow areas. Told you against all the rules.. That is the way I fish.. Capt Mike

Capt - Strange that you caught them at low tide. All the fish in the smaller creeks have been buried in the grass at low tide and come out to feed at the higher tides lately. You found the pattern we were fishing a month ago when the creeks were stained. It was awesome fishing!
I'll have to keep what you are doing in mind this weekend. Any other keys? They holding near cuts or next to deeper water (6-10')? |

Vabass - I haven't personally gone out with the Capt but club members have. I have met and talked with him a couple times. Mike had some of our club down to his house and from what I've heard he cooks as well or better than he fishes. He'll put on a spread if you let him!!! Worth the $$$.
