Default A Different Question About Braid

When I don't have time to take the boat out I visit my local waters. So when fishing from shore what do you guys do if you have 50lb braid on and you get a snag. I know you can't snap it off so do you just cut the line at the rod tip? If you do wouldn't you go through alot of braid in one fishing season? i never take my braid out with me when i go banking but I thought I would ask incase I am missing out on some lil secret about having the security of braided line without the fear of losing 20-30 yrs of it on a snag.
