I understand it as a way to network your two GPS units together. It would allow you to share the same puck and waypoints from the front to back.

Am I close?

they can be used as a fuel management center.

if one of your graphs buys the big one the rest still will work..

according to the list of manufacturers i found, it'll be able to tie in everything. including your engine perf and diagnostics. like currently on cars/big trucks you can download all info like hard braking instances, top speed ever, fuel mileage, and even see what sensors are reading or what needs replacing.

getting closer capt?

Yes right on..

Fourteen units on net and as many sensors as you want can be added.

But the coolest thing is the hookup to the engine smartnet so you can see head temps and oil presures and anything the computer in the engine can see. You can use the high speed puck in the rear and hook up three fish finders to it. A GPS unit can monitor GPH fuel or post guages for the engine or even display fish finder info. Radio hooked to net has a distress button that digitaly sends gps cords and your boat ID number to coast guard in a second. Boat ID has everything about you including next of kin. They know everything in about a minute. No more mayday calls.. and hoping the signal works. It can used with a sirus weather radio and pop up alerts of storm warnings on every device. Multigauges can display 10 different items..

Engine hook ups are somewhat limited right now but are quickly getting on the net..

Capt, I haven't been on big water yet (planning on Saginaw Bay, St. Clair, and maybe Erie this year) but isn't a lot of that more useful for the ocean and other deep-water fishing? I guess I don't see that a lot of that information would be really useful for the bass guys.

Ok scenario #1 Your depth finder goes down so you use your forward one.
#2 A loud beep beep beep emits from your shifter, Can I run back or do I need to get a tow. Menu on your GPS or Fish finder to engine specs to find issue.

True it is more for open water but is now standard issue on Ranger and Triton boats.

Im glad tech is finally edging its way into mainstream fishing. Pretty soon Ill be able to quit my job at the bank and start teaching people how to network and troubleshoot all their boat electronics.

Now that would be a cool job!
