I too stick with the palomar on almost every application. The only exception for me is spinnerbaits where I use a improved cinch.
One thing that I do with fluro and braid is to leave a little tag end on the knot. This gives me a visual on if the knot is slipping.

I too use the Palomar with fluoro. You have to be super careful though when you're tightening the knot though. Use plenty of lubrication and make sure to tighten slowly and make sure the knot seats properly.
There are lot's of good knots to use with fluoro, just make sure to use one you can tie well.

When I am using techniques like a crankbait or dropshot that don't require a high impact hookset I will use a palomar knot. But when I use a technique like jigs, plastics, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and anything else that requires a high impact hookset I use the knot in this video (it's the second video down) http://lftlures.com/riggings . The only time I have had problems with the palomar knot is when I have to use bone jarring hooksets and this knot seems to handle the abuse a lot better for me. It looks like it would be hard to tie but after a few times it becomes very easy.

i like the uni.. its so easy and you dont use as much line as the palomar which is nice especially if youre usin braid with a flouro leader like i am.
check this out too http://www.netknots.com/html/fishing_knots.html

Palomar. Short, sweet, and simple.

I've always used the Improved Clinch.
I've been experimenting lately with the Miller Knot and am very happy with it so far. It's a bit harder to tie than the Improved Clinch, but I rarely have one of those, "Oh crap, that's a horrible knot, I gotta retie it" moments. I'll also be experimenting with the Fish-N-Fool knot this year, which is basically an Uni knot with the line wrapped around the eye twice. With 4-5 wraps, I feel it works fine with FC, and with 9-10 wraps, it works good for braid too. BB

According to sunline the palomar is the only knot for flouro. You have to be careful when you tie it. Be sure to wet the line heavily and sinch it down carefully so the line dosent "burn". The tag end or main line will get "squiggly" if you burn it tightening the knot. Takes a little practice but you'll get full strength if you tie it correctly, weak spots n breaks if you don't. They did a presentation for our club and spent about 30 min on properly tying a palomar. At $120 for a spool of line you tend to pay attention lol.
