Dumb Question
Ok this may seem like a dumb one but ...... I have recently seen a new addition to the rear of many bass boats . It looks like post next to the main motor on the back of almost everyone's boat . It seems to resemble the older style MinnKota vertical trolling motors . Is it a stabilizer of sorts ...a trolling motor . Almost every pro i see on TV has one . I am in Canada and haven't seen one local yet

it is a power pole it is an anchoring device for shallow anchoring. for instance you catch a fish and need to walk back to the livewell you just push a button it folds down and anchors you so that the wind will not blow you off you spot.

Do these come standard on new boats now? Or common like upgrading your depth finder?

ryan is right, and some of them have 2 so that the wind won't spin the boat around.

Don't believe they will work in 8ft. of water. They are really popular down here in Florida for many of years because of how shallow we fish in the Salt. Anywhere from 6" to 3ft. (that's pretty deep on the flats). |

i think 8" would be the limit to the depth. but it is a more common upgrade on new boats. i would like to have one myself.

Okay, I just did some research and I stand corrected, they will work in up to 8ft.

Ok there are no dumb question just
people who are afraid to learn. Here is the website to power pole. I think they have their place, and provided I had the money I would own 2 of them as well.
