Default where is this made?

hey guys/ gals just bought a daiwa steez rod & read that it was made in japan. got my rod & it says made in thailand!! what gives? bought it on ebay but from americanlegacyfishing (a reputable vendor) should i contact them & ask what's up? or is it outsourced to other countries?

Daiwa is a Japanese company. Most fishing products are made in other countries. I believe (don't quote me on this) that Ardent is one of the few companies that are USA based. Lucky Craft, Rapala, Abu Garcia, Daiwa, Pfleuger, Shimano.....they're all foreign companies.

The folks at TT probably know the ins and outs of where such high gear originates. That is shocking to say the least. Keep us posted.

Ok so the folks from TT said that only the compile x is made in Japan. Mine is made in Thailand. I'm ok with that. Haven't had a chance to test it out but man this thing feels like air
