Default Hold on bubba! New Curado and chronarch.

Cause rumor has it Shimano is coming out with a new line of Chronarch and Curado, for 2011 - price reduction.. range of gear ratios, and 50 size available for all...

Along with revamping the rods. I might have to hold off my the Lew's myself to see what these folks got up their sleeve.

I just cashed in some airline miles and the BPS giffy is on the way to the house now. I should be united with it in mid June. I have intentions of buying a Chronarch. We are heading to San Antonio for family vacation and I already have BPS mapped out from the hotel we are staying at.

I saw on another board that BPS were advertising Curados for $139 for the holidays. Anybody else hear about this?

That would certainly be interesting. Something to combat the new Daiwa T3 and Z, and their new Magforce 3D breaks.

I agree, something along the lines of the old D's. But I heard they are gonna be a green.... a shade somewhere between the e7, and b.

I only say that because they are releasing a Scorpion DC for the JDM.

My question is who cares when there's a new Daiwa T3 afoot?

You guys know me, I just had to give the shimano guys some sh!t. Have fun with your new Curados and Chronarchs.

Definitly one of the most inovative reels soon to be out there. $420 bucks though..

Where'd you see $420? All I saw was a low 400 rumor. If that's true, it surprised me. I was expecting low to mid 500s.

Well, that's good news for anyone looking for a Curado. The used market is going to take a hit too unless these fly off the shelves.

Interested to see how much the price decreases on the new reels. It seems Shimano has been cheapening their reels up recently and lowering the prices to compete. Their competition in the Curado price range from Abu and all it's variations (Lew's, BPS, Pflueger) is tough. I guess it's better than Daiwa's recent moves... discontinuing all the decent reels in that price range. As you guys know, I'm a Daiwa guy, but I think they need to take a clue from Shimano and lower some prices. However, if lowering prices means crappier built reels, I'd settle for stable rather than rising prices.

As long as it isn't that ugly black and white. In the end however, I am usually one that choose function over aesthetics, but dang, did I mention that contrasting color combination is ugly? Ebony and ivory....only on a piano.

Not surprising. Lowering quality control and getting cheaper labor makes lowering the retail price possible.

I doesn't matter to me, as long as they last. We buy almost everything else from an overseas manufacturer. I will keep chunking and winding until they give me reason not to. I just wish I had a few spare Bennies laying around.

Although I would rather get spit in the eye than shop at BPS, they are in the Father's Day Sale ad.

lol, $279? That's like $20 off retail...

Seems they may be changing the Citica too... Either way, their still Shimanos, so I won't be using them.
