I fished a 10" worm last night with a 5/0 EWG Gammy and caught a 1.5 lber. Go figure. Big worm ... small fish? LOL

MH 6'6"-7' graphite rod for jigs.

Everette,

I think we talked about KY Lake once before. I've done well on humps and ledges there with a 4" tube on a 1/4 oz. lead head. My brother and I wacked some good fish there in 05. I understand a lot of people fish a 10" worm on a C-rig out there when ledge fishing. That should work too I would think.

Default hooks & worms

In the event that you wait till 7 or any number that you have time to count to, you may just as well figure that your fish has swallowed the hook. Been fishing some at night and have had personal experience.
As far as hooks go, well personally I use a #5, offset "But" bass usually pick up the worm head first, so size is not a big issue,3/0 to 6/0 should do just fine.

If the fish is running with your worm holding it by the tail, well I'm sorry it's most likely a bream.
