To elaborate a little, look at the top right of your screen. Just below your user name, it should have a link that says "Private Messages." Clicking that should take you to your inbox.

No kidding...
"Hey, Earl, how do I get to Kansas City from Amarillo?"

"Go down there till you see the sign, then turn."

Just kidding, Earl...all in good fun.

That is where Map Quest comes in handy.

As someone who frequently uses a mapping program in my job, I can honestly say that mapquest is horrible and will get you lost. I travel to many cell tower sites (new construction) all over Alabama and the surrounding states. Mapquest has way too many roads that are "misnamed", or not even there. I have had mapquest tell me to turn at a road and that road has never existed. I know it is nearly impossible to be up to date all the time as too many roads are being built throughout the year with all the new neighborhoods, but mapquest has way too many errors even with roads that have been around for 10 to 20 years. And when mapquest is right, it will take you the long way. It is not as currently updated as the mapping programs that are store bought such as Microsoft Streets and Trips 2007, 2008, etc. I have a Microsoft Streets and Trips 2005 that is more updated and accurate than the current mapquest. Sorry for the rant but mapquest has caused my many hours of anger and asking for directions from the locals. Mapquest sucks.

Thanx MB

Earl, when I first moved to VA, and started fish'n the back country, I'd get directions like "go down the road a spell, and when you get to Mama's store, that's the one you smell the pies baking, and they are so good, especially when you get them fresh out of the oven with ice cream. And might as well try some of her homemade crackle ....

You get the idea.

Fishngolfn - agree, but mapquest'll get you close. Then Google Earth or an equivalent sat nav programs will help you the rest of the way. Also a good way to explore new spots.

I use a personal handheld GPS and a "car" garmin if I need directions after I have left the house.

One of my biggest pet peeves is bad directions.

They all have their problems, Microsoft MapPoint routed me through somebody's driveway and into a field a couple years ago in Quebec. This summer Google Maps routed me down a gravel road, then it became a 2 track, then woods! Best thing I think is to switch it over to satellite view and hope you can see that the road is paved and exists.
