any live bait........with a steel leader.............and atleast 20lb test. if you want to catch it on artificial try spinnerbaits. but you have to have a steal leader.....watch out for the teeth!

Cause its fun and I want to catch something bigger than a small bluegill............. Its either a big gar or a big Chain Pickeral.......... The state record chain Pickeral was caught out of that creek (dyas creek)...........

You can just use cut bait and put it on a treble hook and bobber. Make sure to let the gar take it for a long time, they take forever to really take it go, then cross his eyes.

just get urself a milk jug. (make sure it has the screw on lid) and run about a 2 foot steel leader from it...then slap on a 5/0 or 6/0 hook with a small bream or cut bait.. throw it out and let it fish...

I used to use a large silver spoon, sight fish the gar and drop it on his head, works for gators to.

SHARP hooks for gar, tough mouths, use a good sturdy rod, definately use the power pro, let it run with it for a little bit, be patient, and hook that sob as hard as you can to penetrate the mouth.

you hook line to a jug, put a hook and bait on it........toss it out, and what for it to start runnin off, then you chase it down, pull it and the fish up, and there you have it.
