When i go fishing at night i have the best luck on a crawdad or a kreature bait anything not like a worm so maybe lizards, craws, kreatures, frogs .
I like the zoom super hog in a watermelon color for night. |

Black Jitterbug, worked slowly. Any dark colors work well for me. However there are a lot of folks that like lighter colors with a full moon. ie if it's lighter out at night use lighter colors, if it's pitch black use black. I personally have done well with dark colors regardless of the light at night. Also plastics that move water such as lizards, brush hogs, zipper worms, curly tail worms will also work. Spinnerbaits in black or dark blue work well with a single colorado blade.
Lizards

When I fish under surface, I personally don't like to use any kind plastic bait! Cuz I think they are all very sensitive. I do enough tiki stuff in day time during summer, so I rather prefer some active lures, such as dark color spinnerbait and crankbait when the water is "open" enough. Any way, try top water lure first, cuz they are very effective at night, and also a lot of fun. |
