well i dont know of any cover. the shoreline is pretty empty exept there are a few sticks and there are lots of rocks. bassaddict, do you recomend just throwing it as far into the middle of the pond as i can? or going parralel to the shorline or up the points?
I have one gravel pit ponds that's very clear and pretty deep. Doesn't have a lot of cover except for brushpiles we've planted. On some of the bare banks I'll catch them on crankbaits in a shad color. Suspending cranks and jerkbaits do well there. I'm fishing from a boat mostly though.
When I fish from the bank there I'll throw a c-rigged baby brushhog or I've also had a lot of luck with a Yamamoto Hula Grub in a craw color. They hit smoke grey colors too.
As far as which way to cast... I would start out casting down the bank and each cast go out a little further. Like a clock... start at 9:00 then 10:00 ect... if you don't get any bites then move 2 cast lengths over and do it again. I think you will have the best luck with a c-rigged plastic. You just need to figure out what they will eat. Good luck!
