Default Casting reel level wind problems!

OK, so last weekend, I was fishing and noticed that the level (not so level any more) wind was jamming on one side of the spool and causing line to build up on one side, and I have to push it in order for it to start moving right again, and even than, every other happens.

So if you guys have any idea how to fix it, please lemme know, I don't wanna have to buy a new reel (or send it to someone else to fix it if I don't have to).

Thanks guys!

WTL is exactly right. Most likely your pawl is worn and not tracking along the worm gear correctly. You should be able to buy the pawl for a couple of bucks. You should periodically oil the gears just like you would the rest of your reel.

Talked to my old man about it! He wants to send it in to BPS reel repair because they're BPS reels, and they have the parts for sure! Anyone know know how long it'll take for them to fix it and send it back?

Thanks!

Call up BPS and have them send you the part. It's a very cheap part, shouldn't be more than a few dollars. And I've heard it's a very easy fix.

Then you won't have to pay to ship it to them and back, and you won't have to pay them to do it either (gonna be a lot more expensive than just buying a part that costs like $3).
