Default young fisherman

I am 18 and i love fishing. I have done some small tournys and won a few. I am doing a NBAA league with my dad this year and hopfully we will win big. I just wanted to know what kind of tournys do you have to fish to get noticed to go on bigger tournys and so on. How do sponcers notice you and do they look for younger people? Just wondering if you could help m eout. Thanks, i love fishing and also this is a great forum!!!

Any tourney you fish and do well in is a plus. When you are frequently at the top of the winners you will be noticed and word of mouth is a great thing in the fact that everyone will take notice. As far as sponsors looking at younger people yes they do. I firmly beleive that a company looking for potentials are more drawn to the younger crowd just like a company wanting to hire a exec will look at the younger crowd.

More power to you buddy, I hope your aspirations come true. One thing I regret after fifty + years of living is not having a clue as to what I wanted to do in life until most of it past me by. Good Luck on your way to the top, don't listen to the negitive input from others, just stay focused on your dreams.

Just Fish As Many Tournaments As You Can Better Have Some Money Though I Was Gonna Do A Cirucut Over Here But Then I Realized How Much It Cost... Well Actually Got My Girlfriend Pregnant. Theres Another Tip Stay Single And Save your Money Make Make Up A Resume And Send To To Companys For Sponsors. Ask Futurepro Hes Done Well So Far. Now Would Be A Good Time To Get Into A Circut. I Know A Lot Of Guys Who Are Gonna Slow Down Because Of The Price Of Gas.

Dont feel bad beturbass. There is alot of us folks that have said "If I knew then what I know now" I would dearly love to turn back time and redo some of the things I attempted and failed at. Tourney fishing woulda been right at the top of my list, but back then fishing professionally was more of a way to make some serious extra money. As alot of you know fishing as a pro has evolved tremendously over the past 15 years. My hats off to ANYONE that embarks on this road today. Having the resources available today all a person has to do is keep there noses to the grind stone and FISH.

First and foremost your priorities should include a college education. Sponsors are looking for people that are literate and present themself well.

I think I may of heard of it. Isn't it Sexual Intercourse? Haha..i'm just messin with ya Bassthumb...

KickinBass.... companies are willing to sponsor younger guys/gals. I'm 19. I've got 2 sponsorships, and 2 sales rep postitions. You have to be willing and able to apply yourself for these companies that you want to be with.. Like everyone ha heard before.. Its not what can the company do for you but what you can do company.. As for me , I fish the BFL as a Boater, the Fishers of Men Md _west division, and I"m also in the process now of starting a NBAA circuit in Pa and Im also a member of the PSU Bass Fishing Club...and that is what I can do for my companies plus a few other things, but that is the exposure that they want and need to see.. I have all my sponsors and sales rep. company logos on my tournament, I also have decal made for my trck and boat... there is a link to my website in my signature (bottom of my posT).. goodluck with the football program... where you playing at....
I goto college at PSU..
