Clear Lake report/pics 4.18.06
Went up to Clear LAke on the warmest day of the year so far(high of 70)! Water was a chilly 51 when I got on the water but reached about 56 in middle of the day up the shallows. Water had about 4-5 ft of vis. I got all my fish rippin and on flukes. Clear Lake had a bad shad die off so there was bait all over the place. I wanted to match the hatch so this was best bet. I had a limit 17lbs. Biggest was a FAT 5lber. This place is gonna bust wide open here soon!!!!

Hey buddy, nice fish. Kinda looks like Rodman Slough, or your favorite spot.
Nice going, looks as though I'll have to go with you this coming Sat. |

I miss norcal, especially Whiskey town and Shasta, I never did get around to fishin clear lake, but it sure looks nice. Tear em up guys, and maybe I'll cya out on the water up there someday. If you ever go thru redding, check out a sweet little pond called Mary Lake, it's a small pond on the west side of town, in the Mary Lake Housing District, off of Lakeview Drive. I don't know what it's like now, but in the mid ninties, it was killer, I used to catch 4, 5, and 6 pounders there on a occassion. I hear they are building houses all around it now...but it used to be one of the best kept secret fishin holes in Redding, a really nice quiet place to fish.
