Default Nothing yet.

Hi everyone,

Like I said before, we went this morning to our city water reservoir. I used plastics, jigs, spinnerbaits, and nothing. We didn't catch anything.

I'm adding some pictures of the place where I fish. If you have any suggestion, please go ahead and share it. Thanks a lot.

Good looking spot!

In the first picture I'd throw a spinnerbait, a square billed crankbait, or a soft plastic jerkbait. through the stickups.

The second pic is a point. See how it sticks out into the water? I'd throw a bottom bumping lure like a Carolina rig and a deep running crawfish colored crankbait. The other 2 pics look like a bare bank-on those I love to throw that deep running crankbait that digs into the bottom. Hope that helps!

If it is clear, through a dropshot/spilt shot. Also finnese jigs, fished on 12lb line, MH rod. aim for the stickups, and when it gets halfway to bottom rip it out of there. Gives it a reflex strike stead of force feeding.

Baja, Flyrod and I fished today from about 7AM to 1PM. The result? Flyrod got 3 small ones and I got 2 hits, no fish. And Flyrod didn't boat the first until noon. My point? We all get skunked from time to time, so don't get discouraged!

That place looks desolate to me. I'm guessing from what I've seen no weeds in the lake? I'm guessing if there is any cover(like the stickups) the fish will be around those somewhat. Also how deep is this pond/lake. If it is deep, then dropoffs would probably also be a good spot, along with points.

Thank you guys for your advices. I'm going to try those hints. There is bass there that I know because I've seen people fishing them.

Thanks.

I think I would take a day when I have time to kill and head out to that lake with a good depth finder and a notepad. If you can find a topo map of the lake then so much the better. Either way, I'd explore that lake with my depth finder and just pay attention to what I find and take lots of notes. Draw diagrams of the lake and mark spots you find where the bottom structure looks promising. Note the various weedbeds, stumps, and any other cover you find thats near deeper water. Old creekbeds if there are any. Basically, spend a day getting to know the lakes bottom and key features. After that you can come up with a good battle plan based on season and weather conditions.
