Default How to use a depthfinder.

Now that I finally have the advantage to use a depth finder, I want to know how to use one. My dad's cousin just got an Eagle FishEasy 245DS.
What does a stump, tree, grass, fish, etc. look like on the depth finder? When you see a tree on the depthfinder, how do you know where it is? Is it to the left of you, the right of you, or under the boat? I never understood how to find where it is.

Thanks,

Julien

That is a great link booger. That probably deserves its own thread. That cleared up a bunch of questions I had. Thanks.
