I had gone fishing this past fourth of July weekend, and I was supposed to go fresh water on the Wekiva river, but instead changed plans and went salt. I really wanted to try some fresh water, so I went to some lakes less than a minute from my appartment complex and decided to cast a few with my new rod and reel. I get out there, rig up a tequila shade worm (Texas rigging since there was so many weeds), then cast it out in between some lilly pads. No less than three seconds later I had a 5 pounder on the line. I couldn't believe it! And ever since I have been hooked on bass fishing again.
I found this forum looking for bass fishing tips, and saw that it was quite active, and had some great info in it. I decided to join to add some of my own very limited knowlege, but hoping to gain some. Well, aside from the intro, I just wanted to ask a question. Does anyone kayak fish at all? And is it better/worse in your opinion then just fishing from the shore? |

I havent but have thought about it. I have seen a few guys do it and they like it. You can even set a kayak up pretty good with some nice equipment (depth finder, gps etc)
It would seem better in the sense that it can get you off the shore and allow access to some more remote areas than even smaller boats cant get to. For me I like to fish with other people most the time. I am sometimes hesitant to go by myself as I like company a Kayak will not really allow that unless there are multiple kayaks.

Ironman, all the gators in my areal leave me alone. The only thing I have ever seen is salt water crocs follow people hoping to get what they catch. Other than that they are pretty stand offish. |

Welcome to the forum!
There are a couple guys here that fish out of kayaks-I'm sure they will chime in.

Yeah, where you're at kayaks are great. There are a ton of lakes in central florida, and a bunch don't have ramps. Good luck.
