Looks like a deer that was shot and the hunter could not track where he ran off to.
Did you cast over to it first to catch that LM that was hiding underneath it? |

Reminds me of something a few years back. I was wading my favorite smallmouth stream late in October, and I look upstream and there was a rack sticking partly out of the water. It was a neat 6 point skull in great shape. I picked it out of the water and took it home. Still have it.
