Need A Prop With Lift......

I am running a 1995 Procraft with a 150 Merc. I do not appear to be getting enough lift from a Tempest Prop. Can anyone reccomend a prop know for bow lift without going custom? Also...........everyone talks a bout the motor shaft in relation to the "PAD". Is this the bottom of the boat?

New to the forum and appreciate all help

The pad is what the boat runs on. It's the area under the drain plug. A good starting place is 3 1/2" below the pad(pad to center of prop shaft). The Tempest is the best application if its a 23 pitch. Also, you would need to have it blueprinted by a reputable prop man. Do you have a jackplate? This also helps. Go to www.bassboatcentral.com. First off welcome to the forums to both of ya. I personnaly recommend the Laserll. I do think from experience that 3 1/2" below pad is to low but may work for your boat. It is a trial and error thing. You have to find the sweet spot for your boat. The pad is the running surface that your boat runs on when up on plane. Usually anywhere from 10" to as much as 16" on some boats. It is the center most portion of your hull. I owned a 1990 180V Procraft that was running a XR6 with a Laserll Prop with 1.86 gears. Had excellant holeshot and very good WOT numbers. Tourney loaded my best was 67GPS with the Laserll prop. It was a 25p. Need any more info dont hesitate to holler. It had EXCELLANT bow lift and handled extremely well. Only thing that was a bit too much was the wheel torque but when running a prop with alot or rake and surfacing the prop you gonna have this. Its one of those things that ya just cant get away from.
