Wacky rig senko tool
I'm sure there's been a post about these things already, but I'm too lazy to search.Me being the stubborn old fart that I am have heard about these things years ago but always thought they were just another POS item nobody needs.
How wrong I was.I got one from Bill M who posts here occasionally. Those o-rings really work.I caught 2 dozen or so bass over the weekend and I still have the same senko on.I'm sure I'll use it again soon.Instead of spending 15 bucks or so on baits to catch those fish,it hasn't cost me anything yet. Get one!!!! They're cheap and will save you a ton of money!!!!!Don't be like me and wait a long time to get one.

Sweet deal, I use the hair band trick for now. I can't ever seem to get around to buy one of those. Sounds like I might just have to now! What kind of hooks do you use (or anyone) use to wacky rig?

I use a 1-3/0 hook with a weed guard, but the size of the hook depends on the size worm, bigger the worm bigger the hook!

when you go to get some more of the o rings, instead of getting them from a tackle store, go to home depot or Lowe's, in the plumbing isle, they have a package of 10 for about a buck, they are #5 size. They don't come in colors like at GM, BPS, ect..., but I don't use the red one's, just the black ones anyhow.

thanks for the write up, I will try ASAP
Also, when fishing senkos, you let it drop, then about 15 sec later, jerk it... right?

About the "tool"...This is fine and/or dandy for ONE size of stick bait, usually the original Senko, for which a #6 O-ring is the preferred size. However, the YUM Dinger (5") and 5" TikiStik need a #5 O-ring in order to not be so easily swiped by a bass that fails to hook up. The 4" Senko does better with a #5 and the skinny little 4" TikiStik requires the teensy #46 ring. Here's how I apply an O-ring: I simply wet the small end of the stick with saliva, insert the small end into the ring, and carefully draw the stick through the ring until I reach the "sweet spot". Rebbasser will witness to my use of my method and it's nice to not be fumbling about with yet another "labor-saving device". L6 |

Save all your old garbage bag ties, cheaper than O rings, fits senkos, dingers. tikiStix, whatever. Works just as well.

These are your best replacement bet for the wacky rig, they do come in black and I think 100 of them are .99 cents. All you need to do is double them over your bait and you won't lose nearly as many senkos or waste money on the wacky tool.

I use those but mine are clear. I got mine for close to $3.00 at my Wally World. The wife found them in my box and made fun of me and then took half of them for our daughters. They work great!!! |

I hadn't seen one of those tools before, but I haven't done much wacky wormin either.....I saw a simular tool used for putting rings on skirt material.....I just use an old ball point pen body to do the same thing.....wonder if a fatter pen body would work for the senko's?

As I understand it, its a way to apply a ring to a senko and you hook the ring with your hook rather then the senko......keeps'm from breaking where the hook would normally go thru the bait.....Zat right guys?
