Default Maine Fisherman Needs Help

I fish south eastern Maine a lot. Regardless of time of day, lures used and various presentations I rarely catch fish. Any suggestions, hot spots or inside tips welcome.

First off, Welcome aboard WoodyBuck!

You say that the fish aren't biting as well as you would like huh? That sounds familiar. Overall, it has been a slow summer for allot of us. But maybe we can help ya. If ya could, would ya give us a bit more information on where your coming from. Like what type of water do you fish, lakes, rivers or ponds. Do you fish from the bank or do ya have a boat. You say that you "rarely catch fish" so this means you do catch some on occasion, right? What have you been catching them on and how have you been catching them? If you can give us more to go with, I'm sure there will be allot of folks here willing to give advice on how to catch more fish.

Default Maine Fisherman Needs Help-2

First, thanks for the welcome. My buddy Buck and I fish from our bass boat. We fish primarily lakes and one river. Catching fish is far and few in between. We've used top water lures at sunrise and plastics in the afternoons. Texas rigged worms, tubes, jigs with trailers, drop shot rigs, deep water cranks, lipless cranks, etc. We fish shore line in the morning and deeper in mid day. Our catches were on top water jointed lures, plastic worms or creature baits. In Maine the bite never comes on shad lures, frogs or spinner baits as they seem to come on fishing shows of southern waters. Once we are at a spot to fish we use our trolling motor only. All advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
