doh!! DOH!!! aw crap!!!......
OWWWWW!!!! i had one of them days when equipment failure reared it's ugly head. first an eye came loose during a cast which put that rod out of action.then the tip eye ceramic breaks on a new lews speed stick-add off color phrase here- then i set the hook in a short bass snapping 8" off my 7 yr old ml spinning wiffle stick. about 2 pm i pop my carolina rig to rid it of a mass of grass. the 3/4 tungstung sinker comes screaming at me hitting me in the elbow-add more than a couple cuss words here. all in all i caught 7 bass with 2 keepers big going 3.5

Sorry to hear that, amigo-that do tend to put a damper on the day. Been there and done that on a couple of occasions.

Hey Zook, that's why Murphy invented his law, so people could have days like that.

I've had days like that. I.e loosing good "tournament" baits,(with the magic "dot" on the belly), breaking good rods, not catching any fish, Depth finder going "hay wire", batteries going bad, partners not showing up on time, and best of all, falling down while "trying" to set the hook on a short striking bass. (Yes that did happen to me)

If you fish for any amount of time eventually you will have a day like that. I remember one where I busted one rod on a hookset(don't recall if I boated it or not ) and about an hour later busted another rod when I accidently wacked it on the TM. All part of being a bass fisherman, I guess.

On those types of days it seems like one thing will lead to another. Sometimes for instance I will get frustrated and cast into a tree and get hung up, and that frustration leads to my casting going downhill...a lot of times when I see the ball start rolling though I take a few moments to cool down, clean the boat and get myself in order.
But then again there are some days when theres nothing you can do. Yesterday I got out in the creek to discover the felts on my waders were hanging by a thread, I had no glue, didn't want to rip the rest of them off....so I just continued home after 25 minutes.
