Default Shakey Jigs

I saw these at the store the other day and hesitated. I ended up not getting them.

Any feedback on them?

No, but I've used something similar. Have you tried the spot removers? They rock.

No I havent. The only ones I've used have the screw keeper and I don't like it cause it rips up my plastics. most likely cause I'm not good at putting it on though.

Nope...

Picasso Shake-E-Football. That's all you need to tear 'em up.

Are you making sure you screw them on before you Texas-Rig them? Are they on straight? They tear the plastics up when you remove them, but not when you rig them, at least not with mine..

The screw keepre is just abou tis big around and the worms though too. I think that may be another problem. I've yet to get a shakey head fish, but then again, I rearely fish it since none of the lakes we fish are really good for it.

The spot removers don't have screws. It's just a prong that holds the worm on. They lie very straight too.

Joolz, how do you get the keeper on the spot removers to puncture the end of the worm so it stays on? It's been a pain in my butt trying to get those things on there. I ended up using the hook to tear a hole in the center of the end of the worm, then push and twist to get it on.

I saw these on You Tube today. Go there and search shakey fishing. It has tons of great bass catching footage underwater. I picked some up today at Cabela's.

Check out Owner shakey head jigs. They have a pin that shoots straight through the center of the spring. The worm goes on straight and easier than a regular spring set up.

MississippiBoy,

I've used the Spot Removers with some success.I use Zoom finesse or shakey worms and just push them down on the prong and then fix the hook.On the finesse worms i'll sometimes bite off a 1/4 inch or so to get enuff area to push over the prong.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, whup. That's pretty much what I wound up doing, biting the end off, doing my best to poke that prong in there, and rigging the hook. It stayed on ok, maybe that'll be good enough. Ever used superglue or that glue for soft plastics to keep it on?

"Owner" makes these type jig heads, they come four or five to a pack (I don't remember) and have various weights. I like the 3/16 oz. I feel like they fall fast enough yet provide enough sensitivity to tell when you have a strike. You'll know when you see these jigs heads, they have a shiny head (that you may wish to paint). With a piece of wire coming straight through the spring.
