Default spinning combo suggestions?

hello,
as most know i am new and well, i have decided that i am NOT the bait caster type!

i fished with a friend's zebco "omega" spincasting reel and i am hooked! this reel had incredible cranking power and was as smoothe as my baitcaster..i know it is not as cool as a baitcaster but..WOW!

also, i know some use spinning reel combo's but they don't seem to ovver the casting power and overall flexibility of the spincaster..

any comments or suggestions?

thanks,
jr

Spincast reels generally do not hold up as well as other reels. As for a spinning combo, Shimano stradics are amazing, as are the new abu cardinals.

Well I use the quantum snapshot for a spinning rod combo at 39$ it works great has a trigger finger rod stands up really well and casts quite far. the reel stands up to the test as well.

buy a mh browning silflex rod for 39$ or so and then go to where you want to buy your reel and look for an all metal frame, a grip that feels good in your hands and very smooth reelingand pick your favorite reel (the rod is a great buy for 40 bucks my dad has had one for 40 years)

HAve you had any drag trouble? My dad has one, and I've had to rebuild it twice.
