Default Spawning Bass (QUESTION)

Here is a question I often think about:

Say your in a tournament,The Bass are spawning. You catch a Bass off the bed, and put it in the livewell. You bring the bass back to weigh in.The fish is weighed, and returned unharmed into the water. Will this fish swim back to thier bed if its say 1/2 of a mile away? Or would it find new habitat?
Thanks

I believe it was Zooker who today or yesterday said that there was someone on this forum who had some info on a study where they tracked bass that were back to their beds 30 miles away within three days.
