Default Anyone In Houston?

I am just getting back into fishing and was wondering if anyone would want to take me under their wing for tutoring. I will pay for gas if you have a boat, or buy beer if we are fishing from the shore. I just feel like I would get up to speed quicker if I had someone who could show me the ropes.

I am thinking about joining a BASS club to see if I can make some fishin' buddies that way.

Also, if anyone reads this and knows of some neat ponds to bank fish in, please let me know.

I have been reading a bunch on the internet. This site seems to be pretty interactive and I hope that at some point I will be able to contribute something positive for other members.

I have been fishing at some really tough ponds... Or my fishing skills really suck. You decide. Either way, I am getting out there and doing what I can to get better. I have been trying crank baits, buzzbaits, worms, a Zara Spook in frog pattern/color, spinnerbaits.. All without even a nibble. I figured that SOMETHING would have bitten one of my presentations by now.. But no luck.

Anyway, if anyone wants to lend a hand to a NOOB-it will certainly be appreciated. I am trying to get better at fishing so that I can get my 7 year old son involved.
