Default Sealing a cork rod handle?

Just wonder if any of you have sealed your cork handles? If so, how did you go about it?

Also if your cork handle has spilt, how would one repair it?

This is what I use, paint it on with a small paint brush. One coat and you're done. I wouldn't get anywhere near any of my rods with a wire brush.

My brother robs are about 8 + years old, and he says they still look new, useing poly. Odd for sure, maybe more bad info? The way he says he does, is several coats over several days, one coat a day. But from what I've read about the stuff above, one coat and for get about. I just might give it a try. I wonder how it works on older corky, and would sanding it clean up the cork, then seal it?

Went and found this little U-tube video, on how to clean up old dirty cork. I'm going to try it, looks like it worked great!

Use the U40 corkseal with a small brush, and be sure to only put on one coat. You'll be good to go. I'd be sure to clean your cork handle before applying.

Wow, that does look great, great job KD!! Looks like I'll be buying me some U-40 ASAP to seal my cork, instead of the poly! Thanks guys.
