Bragging rights, Biggest Bass 2009
I think we need to post our biggest bass for 2009. Maybe even give prizes to the top shoots at the end of the year. (Kevin might have some goodies for this)
So lets see those big ones! Oh mine is a big 0.0 as of now since the boat dont float on the ice. LOL |

Ok, I don't think there is any system to compared those big ones in the south with the not so big nothern ones so how about we do a region winner? This would make it as far as we could get it with out doing state by state.

I would like to hear from anyone with ideas. Mostly I just want to make most of you take a picture of your fish. Since most of the time I have a camera but don't ever take a pic. Also I know most of the people on here have gotten bigger bass then me. I have seen where places have done diff. groups. Like, Large mouth bass, Small mouth bass, stripe bass, rock bass. Then they would have largest, most caught, and longest. Also could do a big ugly contest for when you get that other kind of fish. Feedback, let me know what ya think? |

As one of the only Cali guys, I am a big fan of region....LOL
Not to mention that I don't have anything but LMB in the area. There was a time where Kevin had a bragging rights tourney posted as a sticky. You could probably mirror that. One of the things we do out here is to do our LMB olympics where you pick a few presentations. (Top Water, Crank, Plastic, and Jig) The winner has the highest total weight on fish caught with those techniques. Only 1 fish per presentation will count. Largest fish over all wins a prize as well. Our's is simply a bragging rights and beer purchase tourney.

I got permission to fish a few private ponds this year that have some huge bass in them. Not sure if they would compete against FL or CA bass but it's possible to see a 9 or 10 lber come out of there. I'm game for it!!!

Nitro, like I told you in PM, I'd be happy to help, maybe even donate some of my jigs as a prize.
I think going by regions would the fairest way to do things. Or maybe, draw the names of states at random for teams. Nitro, I know when I set up the last braggin' rights tourney, I was going to do it for the year, but I though it might be a bit much. I did mine for about a month. Maybe we could to a series of them throughout the year. BB

Been talking to BigBassin144 about his region map and asked him to help. Thought what he did last year was a good way to go about this for the year.
I do think we should go just on weight for biggest and maybe length for smallest to make it easy. I dont want the fish to get hurt being out of water. Of course will need a pic of the fish. |

I am up for whatever everyone wants, year, series, what the people want the people get. Also for prizes we dont really need them but maybe a big photo of the winners for the set amount of time would work. T-shirt? |

I'll see what I can come up with rule wise, cause It took me a while to work out al lthe kinks last year, so if I can find them, it'll save some time. The other thing was, I think we should wait until spring, and most of us northern boys have seen the wunnerful ice out. BB

Ok,
BigBassin144 has a point about us nothern boys, but we still need some kind of rules for this. Do we want to do it for the year? Do quarters? Seasons? I think this will make a big differce. bamabassman, what do you think, and of course dont strain yourself. LOL |
