Went to both BPS & Cabela's yesterday and managed to NOT part with any of my hard earned cash at either. Cash - NO, but I did use a couple gift cards and burnt a few of my point rewards. I got a few Koppers lures, including a couple of the new hollow bodied frogs - those look awesome. The Monkey did get in a small nip, but I'm healing nicely, thank you very much.

Took my nephew out for the day - he wanted a new rod for deep cranks, and he had his mind set on one of the BPS Crankin' Sticks that were "on sale" (sale ended Monday per the store clerk - ) He picked up a 7'6 MH one piece rod, and I have to say it was a pretty good feelin rod. It's changed considerably from the ones I used 7 or 8 years ago. Pretty nice rod, actually. He's going to match it up with the Revo Winch I got him for Christmas - should be a pretty nice combo.

Surprised me that BPS wasn't that crowded, but Cabela's - VERY busy in there. No lines at BPS checkour or Cust. Service (returns) but Cabela's had lines at both. Didn't find any bargains at either, guess we'll have to wait for the annual March sale at BPS.

One thing that really stands out in this years catalog is the number of split grip rods. Every company is making them now. I like it.

Yep, got mine also. It confirms what I suspected, their "top end" stuff now has a lower pricing point, looks like they are responding to the current economic situation .

That's good. I would like to see them respond even further during their big Spring Sale. We'll just have to wait and see.

Want to hear some reports on their new dual brake reel they have for $99 that is supposed to be close to backlash proof.

This is just a side note: don't forget about your local family owned tackle shops. Most of them are struggling just to keep their doors open.

Ron, that is really sad. I'm sorry to hear it.

When I can afford it, I'll be paying my local home-town store a visit. That is if he was able to stay in business.

www.anglersworldonline.com

Thank God! ..it looks like he's still in business. His website says that his 2011 Annual Open House is scheduled February 11th thru the 18th. I'll be there!

That's great, Ron.. Much appreciated!

I was amazed at how many different colors he has available. His inventory includes a lot of colors that are hard to find. I counted 73 different Bandit 100 crankbait colors. Thanks again
