Default First day -stuck in mud - redneck rescue

First day out today junior and I drove a few dirt roads and not so roady roads to get to some remote ponds we fish. Everything was a muddy mess and I made a rookie mistake and got very stuck in the mud...

Of course, we left my Explorer and hiked the rest of the way to fish. Junior got two keepers on a bomber crankbait. I got skunked!

Back to the truck! Who to call? Dad out of town... My friends are to white collar, honda drivers etc...

My nephew and his friend JT! Jt drives a 70 something monster pick up, rusted out, rebel flags, redneck license plate, diesel maybe... I don't know

Long story short the boys pulled me out an even drove my truck out to avoid another problem. These guys were once students of mine and got a good laugh at my expense,

Anyway - moral of the story - your best students aren't always the ones who get the best grades!

Yeah, we all know a couple of guys who we wouldn't ask for advice on our current tax laws, but are sure knowledgeable on getting your butt out of a sling when things get down and dirty. RESPECT!!!!

This has been a good thread. I bet Jr. is saying he wants to be a redneck when he grows up.

Yep, it is always good to have a couple redneck friends-you can usually count on them when it hits the fan.

Jim, glad to see you, buddy! Where you been?

Everyone makes fun of a Redneck until their car breaks down, or in this case gets stuck.

Oh. I'm still going to make fun of them...
Just they get to make fun of me too! First they mock my meagery powered SUV, and the sissy boots i was wearing, then they make fun of "a guy with two masters degrees who ain't smart enough to get out of the mud!"

All in good fun, of course!

Ehhhhhh.....there's always arguments for and against.
I was certainly lmao at the Tennessee people who were trying to get out of 2" of snow, by puttin the pedal to the floor one time.
As I was calmly backing out of my spot and driving past them
Besides, you don't hafta be a redneck to pull somebody out

Mallen, you have to remember most of us southerners don't hardly know what snow is, let alone know how to drive in it.

Then again we have idiots who try to drive through a low water crossing-wrong name, should have been called a HIGH water crossing-with 6 feet of rushing water running across it.

I saw the results of that one night about 7 years ago. I was coming home from my wife's (then, just girlfriend's) house after a huge storm. I was late leaving because I had to wait for the monsoon to stop. The road leading from her house was blocked by mudslides, with still-standing trees in the middle of the road. So after having to take the long way around, and back-tracking several times, I see some water across the road leading to my house. I start to back up, then realize I'm not seeing a reflection, I'm looking at taillights about 3' under the water. Some idiot had tried to drive through a 6-7' flood, and wound up sinking his car like the Titanic. Some people really are stupid...
