I tend to roll with "professional overcast" when asked and "Mutha Truckin', Son of a fish" when it happens.

Trantuala Margaretta smile. I bought the SLOSH 30 on ebay and mounted it on my 12 foot heaver. Wind in my face and the taste of Trantuala on my breath I neglected to check the reel for brakes.. Turns out it had none. And the friction ring was corroded anyway. So even if it had brakes they would be useless. First cast was my last cast for the day. That night I sanded/buffed the ring and added red brakes. Fresh line and it soared nicely with 8nbait. The hot sauce in the bearings helped even more the next day..
I have a story about a horrific backlash I will share some day. Capt Mike

lol, probably couldn't even turn the handle.

I think the worst I've had was when my crankbait caught on the tacklebag behind me on the cast...there went a new spool of mono... The worst i've ever seen in person was when a friend of mine and I went to a local reservoir. we each had one rod, and only the baits we could carry in a pocket. Fourth cast, something went wrong and he smacked one of chuncks of concrete around the edge eith his crankbait. Beeing his only rod and fourth cast, we sat down and proceded to pick this backlash out. it took him nearly an hour, and he had about half the line off his reel. BB
