I wholeheartedly agree. They all work great in the right conditions.

On those blow ups and missing fish. Are the bass smacking the bait or sucking the bait??? Small bass will hit the bait, or miss it, and come back and smack it again. Not going to catch them unless they suck the bait. If a big fish smacks it then leave it there. It will come back for it. Always wait for your line to move then set the hook. If a large bass sucks the bait then once again watch your line and set the hook when it moves.

My all time favorite is the Cotton Cordell Boy Howdy in chrome/black back 4.5" long, 3/8 oz. It's similar to the Devil's Horse, but floats quite a bit higher creating a different reaction strike. Great around hydrilla! I like the twitch, twitch, pause technique for this lure. The pause is real important!

it all depends on what the fish are feeling at that time, but my favorite to use is the chug-n-bug

I Personally Like Buzzbaits, But at Night I'll Use a Hula Popper or a jitterbug. Also in weedcover I use Horny Toads or Bozzfrogs, my favorite is the YUM Buzzfrog though.

And were we supposed to reply coherently to this beautifully written dissertation on the benefits of a buzzbait vs. other topwaters? I'm so confused...

[kwote=Bassfisher02;BR549] Does he think its like a chatroom??? [queaut]

Response #1: You expect coherence HERE?...... Mwaaaaaaaaaaa...hahahahahahahahahahahaha! (to be continued.)

Response #2: We HAD a nice chatroom here, once upon a time. One day, a couple of ChatterBaits logged in and, well, there went the neighborhood. Couldn't get a word in edgewise!

As promised; ...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha........ha.

Yeah I remember the chatroom, I was in here before Kevin even made it, and then when we started meeting up there every Sunday around 9. But back then 'trouble makers' were a lot more common and messed things up. I guess it started getting back again but I became busy and vanished from the boards for quite some time.

Hummmmmmmmmmmm...........just found this thread. The best topwater.......Ok here goes it.Depends on the available cover and season IMHO, More open water Ilike a Sammy, around laydowns and stumps I use the HORSE, when it gets real nasty THE BASS RAT REIGNS (until I get a report for FR on the Spro's) and the good ole Torpedo in Black shore Minnow.
