Check out this old frog bait
A recent post about a vintage frog got me to thinking about an old frog lure I got after my dad passed away. I have no idea how old this lure is, but it's an oldie! I'm 51 years old and this was in my dads box many many years before I came along. All I can find is some stamping on the lures belly that says HALIK, Moose Lake Minn. If you move the wire comming out the nose back and forth, the legs will swing in and out. Not sure how well it really works in water as it will never see water again!

Best info I could find on this frog was that it was made somewhere around 1940, this is an add for the bait.

Your welcome Keith, I bet a buck and a half was a hefty sum for fishing bait back in the 40's.

John, when my dad passed away I got his tackle box which contained several older lures. Some are still in production, but I have the old versions. Anyways, I plan on doing exactly what you said about the shadow box. I have an old pic of my dad taken back around 1947 holding a pike he caught on his and moms honeymoon. That will go dead center in the shadowbox surounded by his old lures. It would be cool to get an enlarged copy of this Halick frog add to have as the background in the shadow box!
