Yea they really do work. In fact, B.A.S.S. is currently trying to pass legislation to make them illegal in tournaments! Wow!

Actually I was being facetious, but I guess I'm a sucker and can't stand seeing a kid throw away his money...
They are crap. Junk. Not worth it at all. Maybe they will catch a fish once a blue moon, but so will a wacky rigged drinking straw. Kids, there is no such thing as a free lunch. Nor a magic lure. Don't believe the hype.

I heard they're waiting on the Supreme Court to make a ruling. I figure if its made it all the way to the Supreme Court, they must work pretty dang good.

Indeed. Spend your money on quality tackle, not merchandising. Quality baits will catch 9 bass per hour, they don't miss that .4 of a fish!

Rob, I heard the same thing. Actually, to be more specific I heard Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg brought in a 38 pound, 4 ounce limit on the Potomac river with them. So they must work.

Nope-she got them on a chrome plated whiz bang .
BassMoJo, a word to the wise: If you have to buy a kit for $x rather than an individual lure it probably isn't worth the investment.

Reb beat me to it.... Mojo, if you're gonna invest in a miracle lure, get yourself a whiz bang and some warthog urine spike-it. nuff said.

Kicktails 8.6 bass per hour is misleading.
They don't mention the size of the bass in their claim. There is a lake an hour from me that has way too many small bass. My first time there I was useing a Smithwick topwater and caught bass on every single cast. Once I caught one on the front trebble and one on the back treble. They were all bass but they were the kind you wish you didn't catch because now you have to take them off the hook. It was rare when you hadn't hooked a baby bass with-in 5 seconds of the lure hitting the water.
It's actually a frustrating lake because we've caught some huge (not really huge but up to six pounds) bass in it but usually the smaller faster fish get to the lure instantly. |
