Seasonal smallies?
Ok, I figure since I won't be fishing in a while, I'd be a good time to absorb any and all info I can get!
What kinda stuff do throw for smallies when, and where are they then? I think I've heard that a Drop shot is a good spring bait. School me! Thanks!

this time of year i fish really clear water and i throw small crankbaits. Mostly shad colors. In the spring and summer they seem to be a sucker for a carolina rigged space monkey when they are deep, OR a football head finesse jig in water 25 feet and deeper. Most of my drop shotting is done around bridge pillars and other types of vertical structure and can also be effective during the summer when the bite gets really slow and the fish go really deep. I usually drop shot a 4 or 6 inch trick worm, but sometimes i will opt for a senko or ringworm....just my $0.02
