Amistad Report 23th and 24th
spent the thanksgiving down in amistad! Bank fished only, and got a total of 9 fish, 2 picture worthy(others were complete dinks!). only used one lure, the t-rigged pumpkinseed berkley powerbait worm deadsticked. i did this because this is the only, i mean only, bait i have ever cuaght i fish on in amistad in 4 years of fishing it. CRAZY I KNOW. lake was beautiful, could see down 10+ feet.
highlite of the trip!.... It was 8:40 on the way down, we were 30 minutes away, on a road in the middle of the desert going 60-70 mph. out of nowere a 150 pound hog appears in the road. my dad hits it head on, and it woke me and my sister up. my mom rolls down the window and smell burning, so we pull over to the side of the road. well, the impact pushed the metal part of the bumper against our left tire, so we couldnt move anywere! Out of phone range, we try to pry it out. after an hour of cars going by, a guy that had a hunting lodge 2 miles down goes and gets some big tool, and prys it back within 20 mintues. my mom thanks him by giving him our 2 pecan pies lol. anyways it'l cost 1 grand for a new bumper. . hard to see in the pic the damage. Over all, a good trip full of bass and turkey! |
